WHAT WE DO
From weekly club meetings during each quarter, to our large quarterly socials, to collaborations with other groups, and more, we have many fun events each quarter! Weekly Salsa Meetings
Tuesdays, 7-9 pm
Each week on Tuesdays during the UW academic quarter, we host lessons in the dance style Salsa, a popular Latin dance that combines many styles of Cuban and American dances. There are many forms of salsa, and at Salsa Club we mainly focus on Salsa On-1. We learn both individual dancing, or shines, as well as partner work. All our lessons are open to all levels. Quarterly Socials
Varies each quarter
Our biggest event of the quarter, our socials feature both salsa and bachata. Bring your friends, and enjoy a night of dancing and fun! This event is free to all salsa club members. At the beginning of each social, we host beginner lessons, so no matter your experience, come join in! More info on these events will be posted on our Instagram.
Performance Team
During Spring Quarter
Each Spring, some of our fabulous members audition, practice, and perform as part of UW Salsa's Performance Team! This amazing group performs at our spring social, and, if possible, other local socials. Watch out for more information on this opportunity!
Weekly Bachata Meetings
Thursdays, 7-9pm
Each week on Thursdays during the UW academic quarter, we host lessons in the dance style Bachata, a Latin dance style originating in the Dominican Republic, danced to music of the same name. We learn both individual dancing, or shines, as well as partner work. All our lessons are open to all levels. After each lesson, we also have time for social dancing! Collaborations, and Other Special Events!
Varies each quarter
Throughout the year, we host more fun events for our members, including social Boba Trips, collaborations with other dance clubs and music groups on campus, dance sessions on UW's Red Square, and lessons in other dance styles from guest teachers.
